Powered by Desire2Learn (D2L), Brightspace is the University of Akron's learning management system. Brightspace can be used to develop online courses or to supplement on-campus courses. Brightspace automatically contains a course site with a class roster, communication, collaboration, content delivery, and student assessment capabilities for every course in our schedule. Features include:
- A home page for each course with announcements and customizable widgets
- Online self-assessments, quizzes, and exams
- Threaded discussions
- Document storage, sharing, and management
- Course event calendars
- Grade books
- An ePortfolio
- Integrations with Microsoft Teams, Panopto lecture capture, H5P, and many publishers.
Upon request, Brightspace sites are also available upon for other University purposes, including hosting content for committees, research teams, student groups, or departments.
