Dear NASW Mental
Health and Private Practice Section Members:
Please consider
enrolling in The National Adherence Initiative for Schizophrenia, a
nationwide data collection effort that is launching in November.
Partial adherence is
a significant problem in the treatment of schizophrenia. Data suggest
that it begins early in the treatment process and can affect up to 75% of
clients.
The National
Adherence Initiative for Schizophrenia is a unique opportunity to join
other mental health professionals committed to understanding more about
the challenges clients with schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder
face with treatment adherence.
Participation
is as Easy as 1-2-3 !
- Visit www.adherenceinitiative.com
and complete the online enrollment. You will then be mailed a
Welcome package containing a Program data collection Survey Card.
- Identify up to 10 clients
with schizophrenia that you feel are at risk for partial
adherence. You will not be asked to submit any identifying
data for these clients.
- Using the Survey Card,
complete 8 quick Yes/No questions about your clients, and mail the
Card by November 15.
You will receive a
comprehensive report of the data collected from the selected clients, as
well as an aggregated summary of National Program findings.
Please consider
enrolling today and contributing to this important initiative, which is
sponsored by Janssen, L.P. in partnership with NASW.
